John Carroll University is located right in the heart of University Heights. It'ss a great community, very welcoming, very friendly, and very safe.
There's actually a smaller school with elementary school kids and after class they'll actually walk across campus to go home, so I think that really brings in the safety aspect of campus as well. If you can let your eight year old walk across campus I think your 18 year old will be all right.
Right through the front gates of campus is Fairmount Circle, which has a few different restaurants that students tend to eat at. Including, Pizzazz, which is a fun Italian place, and Ben and Jerry's ice cream
There's great shops like Legacy Village, and Beachwood Mall. There's great restaurants like Little Italy and Hello Bistro and all sorts of different options for whatever you're into.
The area of University Heights in Cleveland presents so many awesome ways to explore the outdoors with all the Cleveland metro parks, but also has so many opportunities for students to be involved with internships or service opportunities in the area.
It's super easy to get to Cleveland, and very accessible, and there's all sorts of things to do down there. There's the Indian's stadium, the Brown's stadium.
Some of my favorite things to do in downtown Cleveland to definitely catch an Indian's game with my friends. But if I'm not catching a baseball game, there's a bunch of different great places to eat downtown and just a bunch of different things that you can experience there too.
